2013 Season Kick Off!

Tuesday, April 16 at 6:00pm, Lander Library. Come see what is new this year at the garden, sign up for a plot, find out how to get involved beyond planting your own garden, participate in a seed exchange, and meet some great folks.

NOLS Community Garden Coldframe Workshop and Volunteer Day

Saturday, April 27 at 11:00am, at Pushroot Community Garden.  (alternate date if inclement weather occurs on 27th, will be May 4th)

NOLS is sponsoring this exciting community day at the garden. Learn how to build a cold frame! Cold frames are inexpensive, transparent roofed structures that can be placed over raised beds. They sit low to the ground, protect plants from inclement weather and can extend growing seasons with passive solar and ventilation. We will also be working on a few maintenance and housekeeping projects for the garden. Work is appropriate for ages 12 and up. Food and beverages will be provided. PLEASE RSVP TO NICOLE_BRAVERMAN@NOLS.EDU

2011 Beautification

July 30, 2011 – Garden Beautification. Gardeners enhanced PCG with lots of sweat equity.

PCG’s 2011 Season has begun!

Howdy All,

Since it is rare that we update this site and rarer still that I post blog like updates, I want to do that now to commemorate the start of PCG's 4th year.  We had our annual season kick off meeting at the library this past Wednesday and it was again a hit.  There were over two dozen folks who came to sign up for plots, find out what all is going on, or just show support.  We also had a number of guest speakers comment on programs and events that relate to the garden.  These ranged from The Nature Conservancy picnic held on Earth Day at the garden, to announcements about our local Farmers Market, to fundraising events.  We also unveiled the new PCG sign that was painted by Kristin Vogel and installed at the garden this Earth Day.

We want to thank everyone that attended and let you all know that we are looking forward to another great year gardening together.

2010 Harvest Celebration, Saturday September 25th

The date is set, the band is booked, the tables are being built, and the shade pavilion will soon be installed.  All that means we are almost set for the 2010 Harvest Celebration.  PCG will be providing the grillable grubbery and some drinks, fellow gardeners will be supplying some fresh veggies or creations from their gardens, White Mule will be adding the live bluegrass music.  There will be games for the kids and prizes.

You won't want to miss this party, Saturday September 25th, from noon to four at the garden.

Come be a part of this celebration and thank you to all those folks who have made this our third season, a great one.

See you there,

Andy
